Hossan Lumo’s lakeside sauna offers an atmospheric sauna experience right by the lake. A large panoramic window overlooks the lake, allowing you to enjoy the peaceful scenery while relaxing in the sauna. In summer, you can admire the long, light evenings, in autumn the beautiful colours of the season, and on dark winter nights you may even see the Northern Lights dancing across the sky.
The sauna and hot tub can be booked both by guests staying at Hossan Lumo and by other visitors to Hossa.
Wood-fired lakeside sauna
The gentle heat of a traditional wood-fired sauna is the perfect way to slow down and relax. The sauna is located right by Lake Hossanjärvi, and its large lake-facing window brings the surrounding nature right into your sauna experience.
Between sauna sessions, you can cool down outdoors or take a refreshing dip in the lake. Especially in summer, the combination of the sauna, lake and Hossa’s long, light evenings creates the perfect setting for an unhurried evening.
Hot tub by the lake
To make your sauna evening even more special, you can also book the hot tub. Relaxing in the warm water is a wonderful way to unwind after a day spent outdoors while enjoying the peaceful lakeside scenery.
Dark winter evenings offer an entirely different experience. On a clear night, you can gaze at the stars from the hot tub and, with a little luck, watch the Northern Lights dancing across the Hossa sky.
Use of the traditional Finnish kota is included
Next to the sauna and hot tub is a cosy Finnish kota, a traditional wooden hut with a central fireplace. The kota is normally reserved exclusively for guests staying in our lakeside chalets, but when you book the sauna or hot tub, you are welcome to use it free of charge during your reservation.
Gather around the fire, prepare a small snack and enjoy a peaceful evening before or after your sauna. Together, the kota, wood-fired sauna, lake views and hot tub under the open sky create a complete Finnish nature experience.
Sauna experience also available without accommodation
You don’t need to stay at Hossan Lumo to enjoy our lakeside sauna. The sauna and hot tub can also be booked by visitors who are staying elsewhere in the Hossa area.
The sauna experience is ideal for couples, families and small groups, and is a wonderful way to end a day spent exploring Hossa National Park.
